La Régalade ~ Delicious French Bistro
priss | July 25, 2010Beau took me to La Régalade in West Vancouver on my birthday. Ever since one of our foodie friends told us how awesome it was, it’s a restaurant we’ve been wanting to go for years. Lucky me, I got to try it on ma special day with ma beau. =)

The restaurant is a cute, cozy place that made me feel like home. There is patio spaces out front and back too. The kitchen was the first thing we saw when we walked in, along with the good-looking desserts on the counter top! Our nice waiter let us pick our table right beside the window. They weren’t very busy that night but they are ALWAYS packed! It worked towards our advantage as we could have our space and talk. =)

We couldn’t take our eyes on the menu as soon as we sat down. OMG everything looked delicious! I asked our waiter if I could order them all! XD

So they have their regular menu + an awesome selection of specials.
It took us a WHILE to decide on 3 appetizers + a main to share. Tough decision you know!
The bread was really well-made. Soft and fluffy like mine… tee hee~

Started off with half a litre of red. Silly us.. we forgot the name!

La Terrine Maison ~ Home Made Pâtés: chicken and pistachio, pork and rosemary, duck liver and pork, served with baguette, salad, + sweet onion reduced in red wine, Dijon mustard, and cornichon – the gherkin cucumbers. =) So French in those cute little jars.
They were ALL delicious! We were doing mix-and-match with the flavors and every combination worked! There were a lot of pâtés and of course we packed them home!

Sable parmesan et tomates tart. We finished this dish in 2 minutes. Need me to say more?

Lamb Capaccio ~ mmMmMMmmm… the tomatoes, celentros work really well with the lamb with a hint of spiciness.
We thought it’d come out raw. =p

Lastly, MmMMmmmMMmmm, the infamous Beef Bourguignon. OMG OMG! It came out in a cast iron pot. Good portion of beef in a bed of bacon bits and veggies. Wow… it’s making me salivating just to write about it now!!

What do I think?
I’m HAPPY! The owner said bye to us and called me “Madame”. =) Loved the decor, the friendly staff, menu, wine, and every dish we tried! We’ll definitely go back!
