Home-made popcorns with white truffle oil
priss | June 12, 2010I had always want to make popcorns from scratch ’cause 1) beau loves LOVES popcorns when watching movies, & 2) we don’t have a microwave at home [on purpose 'cause it's not good for ya!]. After some quick research online I found a very good recipe! Making popcorns could be tricky ’cause they can be easily burnt and often not all of the kernels pop! If you follow the following recipe I guarantee you all of the kernels will pop and the end result will be mmm MMmm MMMmmmm delicious!
1). 1/3 – 1/2 cup of kernels. I got some organic kernels. =)

2). 2 tbsp of oil. Use oil that response well to high temperature oil Canola oil. I also drizzle a few drops of white truffle oil to add some flavor. Add some salt at this point too. Now drop a few kernels in the pot, cover the lid and turn to medium heat.

3). Once the kernels pop, add in all of the kernels. Cover the lid and remove from heat. Count 30 seconds, OUT LOUD! =p Beau and I would be silly at this point counting down the seconds. Haha it’s a fun process. =) Then put it back to the heat, with the lid slightly ajar so the steam can escape.

4). Now here’s where the magic happens. They’ll start popping all at once once you put the pot back to the heat. When the popping slows down to a couple seconds between each, turn off the heat. Voila~ You are done! Look at them! Aren’t they beautiful????

They really… really taste delicious! & they are so easy to make! Try them yourself~

Now I gotta go make some for beau and bo D for our movie night! =)
By the way, you probably should consider giving up the microwave popcorns. See the reasons yourself.
