High Tea in beautiful Vancouver~
priss | April 20, 2010Busy busy busy busy!! Why are there only 24 hours a day and not 48, 72, or 721??? I need more time so I can squeeze in my workout, my hobbies, and stuff, while not sacrificing sleep !!!! >_<~
Had a very pleasant weekend though. I finally had a chance to take bo ma, bo ba, bo D and beau to try afternoon tea. It was very delightful.
Prior to nailing on where to take them, I had done some decent research. Places like the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Shangri-La were already out of my list earlier in the game, simply because they were way over priced to my liking. For High Tea at that price range, I’d rather take them to Fairmont Empress in Victoria for a true, royal afternoon tea experience. Beau took me there years ago, when we were students and broke… it was so sweet and I’d never forget it. =) I thought of taking them to Secret Garden Tea Company, which I went with Wendy before. But at the end, I wanted to try something new.
Then I stumbled upon T Room and Bakery at Point Grey. Their website reads: An assortment of petit gourmet sandwiches, scones with Devonshire cream and homemade berry confitures, scrumptious tartlets, layer cakes and chocolate dipped-fruits are presented on a three-tiered server. Accompany these delectable bites with any tea(s) of your choice from our seventy plus varieties. I was sold. =D Hahah! I love food too much!
How do I think? You tell me after looking at the pictures!

It was a beautiful day. We were seated for our $26.95 high tea at a table right beside the window. My GF1 caught the bliss outside which lifted the cherry blossom pedals up in the air… exactly what I wanted to see at the right moment.

The table was decked with flowers (wish they were Gerbera daisies!) and everything was very nicely color coordinated. The tea menu was tied with a cute little green ribbon. I was amazed as I untied the bow and saw the 40+ selection of tea! That took us a while to decide. Bo ba ordered Japanese Sencha, Bo ma and Beau both got Earl Grey, Bo D got Bubble Gum (sounds gross but it was actually strawberry and lemon fruity tea, and I got Lovely Three Flowers~

Love making people I adore happy~

Dung Dung DUNG!!! The food arrives! Again, love seeing ma loved ones HAPPY!!!!
I’m willing to do anything to make them smile~ Absolutely anything.

OK! A closer look:
Bottom tier ~ vegetarian sandwich (eggplant, mushroom, onions), chicken curry sandwich, cheese w/ ginger sandwich
Middle tier ~ blue berry muffin, cheese & chives scone, almond scone
Top tier ~ lemon tart, mango cheesecake, 3 chocolate mini cake, and strawberries dipped in chocolate

beau I <3 you~ =)
The verdict? WE LOVED IT x 721% !!!~~!~!!!!!! The owner told me she went to high tea places all around the world, which tells me there’s a lot of passion in this little cozy T Room, and I can tell from their tea, the decor, the plates, and the delicious pastries. She also showed me the garden at the back with like 4-5 tables, and there’s also a private room for special functions.
We really enjoyed it. There were so much food that we packed one big box and another small box! I’ll be back! Maybe try their mini tea @ $13 next time so we won’t get fat. XD
I’ve been writing listening to 坂本龍一(Ryuichi Sakamoto)’s Koko. It’s like perfect…
